    76K miles , timing belt not replaced. Recommendation?

    Should i get the timing belt replace @ 80K or should i have already had this done?

    I'd go ahead and get it done now. I had mine done at 75k.

    Assuming you have a b6 (it's wise to put the year and type of car you have somewhere where people can read it), you should have the updated tensioner, you should be fine for 80k. I know plenty of people who didn't bother until 90k-100k who were fine. It was the previous tensioner that had issues, for example, the timing belt on mk3 went out at around 60k. If you have the funds and are just waiting for the sake of waiting.. I'd get it done now. If you need the money for something important, like say.. to feed your 8 cats, I'd push it until 80k or so and not worry about it. Take note though, there's always risk involved with anything you do.
