    Auto Leveling headlight issue

Hey guys, I am not realy sure what to do here and I would like to see if anyone has had a simular issue. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it, but yesterday I pulled changed my wheels and since then my headlights are pointing right at the ground (like 6 feet in front of the car). I ran the vag-com on the auto leveling secion and it came up with a code for the front left level sensor not working properly. I check all the wiring and the conector is on good. Is it comon for this thing to go bad? I just don't like buying electric parts that are non returnable to find out that its really somthing else. Any input would be appreciated!

I believe that our cars have two; one on each axle on the drivers side.

Any idea how much the part is? BTW, I just took my car out and they worked fine. Stopped for a min at a store, came back out and they were messed up again!

    WTF!!

I believe that there are four total on these cars (one per wheel). I'm not fully certain about the rear, but I do know there is a sensor on each front wheel.

The sensor is located just forward of the shock mounted on the body and connected to the lower control arm via a small plastic arm.

    IIRC the sensors are ~$50.

both are on the drivers side, one in front and one in the rear, if just your passenger side is low you might try re calibrating the system.

    Re: Auto Leveling headlight issue

Ever since I put me e-codes in the leveling stopped functioning. VAG-COM shows value of 0 and they don't "self test". I said F*** it and self adjusted them. They work fine.

    Re: Auto Leveling headlight issue

I had the same issue too. I pulled my headlights apart while they were out for the timing belt and found almost every wire within the unit had lost its sheething. Lets just say after rewiring the whole headlight burning myself a few times with the soldering iron and some cursing it has never happened again.

Ok... glad to hear I don't have something tied/hanging out on the pass side. So how do you recalibrate then? Vag? Thanks infink
