Okay, so today i went to go put my rear slotted rotors on i got the top bolt off but on the driver side i couldn't get the bottom bolt off. I tried liquid wrench and heating the caliper where the bolt goes into it. Nothing worked keep in mind i was only using a 8mm L bar and not a 8mm socket. So i used a wrench for leverage and it went kadi wampas and partially stripped out. I should have stopped there and taken it to a shop to finish but like an idiot kept on goin. I then went to an 8 mm socket and tried it. only this time i stripped it.... What do i do now????

So now that im kinda f* what should I do? take it to a shop and let them try to get it out? or is there anything i can do at home. (i dont think vic-grips are going to get this sucker off.....

If you where having that much trouble you should have actually tightened it first. I swear just tightening a bolt maybe 1mm, and then loosening should yiel success... it has 100% worked for me all the time.

Also, sometimes this happens, lol, but are you sure you were not tightening it instead of loosening it? I know your not an idiot, but hell this sometimes happens when you are working on something upside down or whatnot......I am guilty of this....

As for where you stand now...if it was me I would dremel a slot in it to get a BIG screwdriver in it and then get some vicegrips also on the bolt and loosen it like that. I had to do this for my pressure plate bolts

My suggestion would be to take a torch and heat up the bolt and then take a 9 or 10mm and hammer it into the stripped out bolt and then slowly apply torque to it. Good luck.

your going to have to heat it up, craftsman makes a kit that helps getting stripped bolts out try that. The problem is if its REALLY torqued on there you may have to drill it out because you wont be able to get it off even with that kit.

Craftsman Bolt-outs have saved my ass way too many times... Get the 13pc set. The 10pc and smaller kits have slightly different sizing on a few of them, but the label is same as the larger kits. It takes a good eye to see it though The 13mm (common audi size) on the 13pc set is ever so slightly bigger and fit around the allen bolts on my driveshaft better than the 13mm-1/2" bolt-out found in the 10pc and smaller kits...
