So i filled up my car the other day and my "goal" with this tank of gas was to get the best gas mileage possible without going crazy. Iv been shifting around 2-2500 rpm and where ever i can coast i do especially hills, etc. i usually get around 250-280 from full until i have to fill up again.so far this is what my dash looks like right now, how am i doing? it reads 140.1 miles at just under 3/4 of a tank. or

How much city and how much highway? If it's mostly city looks like your doing pretty well.

all city. in the AM i go to school a few miles away and my car never gets a chance to warm up at all really. drive home. go to work which is about 15 miles away, usually a steady pace in 5th gear, having to stop at some stop lights. im pretty happy so far

I'm always debating whether I want good mpg or to have fun while driving, the 2nd option usually wins.

    Re: 2.8 Gas Mileage

I recently switched to a K&N drop in filter. Although I wasn't really expecting an increase in MPG, I have seen it. I used to get about 17-19 MPG with mixed city and country driving. Now I am getting 20-22 MPG. That is with aggressive driving as well.

    Re: 2.8 Gas Mileage

I am lucky if I see 230 per tank tops with the same 2-2.5 k rpm shifts and town only driving..My engine has never seen over 4k with me as the owner..I try my butt off every tank just to see how far it stretches, but stil cant hardly muster 230 miles.

    Re: 2.8 Gas Mileage

I get 300-350 miles out of a tank in my 1.8t and it hits at least 5k rpm everyday. Revs aren't as much of a fuel waster as throttle position.

i get about 300 +/- 20 in a mix of city/highway driving. This is with a sc, bad coils, questionable injectors, shotty o2 sensors, and a ruined cat
