piggies+cutouts or custom dp's+cutouts

should i just save some money and just have the cutouts fabricated on my piggies or have some custom 2.5 inch downpipes made with cutouts on them also. I can get some dp's made for 250 bucks not stainless steel tho, what do u guys think

You can get by with the stock diameter downpipe. Sure the custom one will have some benefits.

If the $250 is burning a hole in your wallet then go for it.

$250 is also a really good deal for downpipes, so maybe you should jump on it.

you can do either, but I would run cutouts with both of them. They're fun and an extra boost of power.

btw get electric cutouts instead of manual dumps.

not to threadjack but, I don't run any cats either, in the downpipes or catback, just resonators. it's the ssac set up. is that bad for air/fuel mixture? do the o2's have anything to do with that? I know the downpipe ones don't but what about the cat back portion?

If you are going to do cut outs you might as well go all the way with custom dp's. But $250 sounds like an insta-rust exhaust.

I would be highly skeptical that the custom 2.5" will flow better than the stock DP's with gutted precats, and not being stainless, they certainly won't last as long...

i say just do the cutouts, the whole point of bigger downpipes is to help spool and relieve back pressure, cutouts/dumps will do just that...either way its up to u

i baught cutouts 125 a piece, my friend got a catback from them it isnt even rusting yet, but thats what i was think PoloIceberg the whole point cutouts is to get rid of backpressure is the .5 of an inch gonna do much and also get rid of that empty champer where the old cat was near the turbo

That chamber right behind the turbo is theoretically the reason that the factory DP's with gutted pre-cats do as well as they do. Some very, very fast S4's use these pipes...
