335xi vs Stage2 s4

guys. I just had the luxury of going up the long hill on 280 against a 335 finally for the first time.

I was in the left hand lane and 335 was in the far right. there were 2 cars in front of us in the middle so the stage was set. I'm telling you i was prepared but this guy couldnt help to try to embarass me. matter of seconds he was taking off from 65mph. ...I slammed it from 5th!! thru 6th up to 135 we were neck and neck. i may have pulled about a half car leagnth.

the 335 seemed stock. this was the most evenly pulled run ive ever had with another car that i can remember.

335 3.0tt stock vs 2.7t stage 2+ .....

i think from a luanch till 130 i'd edge em out.

---now the ironic part. after cruising 80 to 95 thru trafffic( not racing) tell me why i look in my rear view mirror and see 4 cars following our everymove.... a c class benz, 04 tl, altima, and a wrx. all outa nowhere. they all must have seen the whole thing and wanted more. Must have been a thing of beauty to watch a S4 running with a 335 randomly like that.

p.s. nice run btw. he was prolly stock though, which is a bit depressing

hell no. it wasnt planned. i just anticipated what would happen as soon as i peaked at the driver and he was in his 20's maybe ealry 30's. this guy new exactly what was around him.

had to be stock.... i think a chipped 3.0 would pull on a stage 2 2.7t. and we were door to door just about going up a long hill.

sounds about right....and yes he was stock, i can guarantee that.

I think if you geared down lower... maybe in to 4th, hell even 3rd... you would of pulled much harder on it.... those cars are very fast when chipped, and we (stage 2) dont stand a chance against them... but its known that a 335xi is slower then the 335i.... nice run!

well duh! that is pretty much the only drawback to AWD

but i too am curious, why did you not downshift to 4th or 3rd. you would have edged him out more if you did

He was stock for sure. As I posted in an eerily similar titled thread, my friends 335xi with Dinan software walked away from my Stg2.

i knew id boost right away and just let it rise thru the rpms. the passenger was already starting to have a panic attack. lol. and everyone keeps saying how they love how the s4 pulls in 4th and 5th... i just maximised the boost and just kept in 5th. ..... if he actually went from 4th really trying to fk me up then with out a doubt my setup is faster than a new 335xi.

no big deal. i'd prefer him in front of me so i can see where he was. i would hate being hit from behind just from fooling around.

if you like the way 4th and 5th pulls with your mods, wait til you drive in a stage 3 car.

really cant wait. purposely never drove one just for the fact that i'd be obsessed and drop the money right away. that theory is on its way out once i run into one of you guys one day with so many stage 3's floating around now. dont let me drive it...
