    GT28RS with Selet Plus

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    First off here's my setup:

GT28RS kit from Eurocode with REVO programming
    AWE FMIC
    AWE Exhaust
    Carbonio Intake
    ECS Stage 3 Coil Pack
    Bosch Plugs
    Bailey DV

    Select Plus and Vag Com.

I keep reading posts and hearing about people who's setups pull extremely hard and think that I might be missing out on something. My car does pull hard but I feel like there should be more. With the Select Plus I've set my car to boost level 6 and timing at 4. I'm not exactly sure what my boost is since my boost gauge is not hooked up (broke my tee connector).

    Any ideas?

if you go to the plumbing aisle at lowes, they have these plastic T fittings that are PERFECT. my podi didnt come with one (and a lot of things for that matter, but still love it). they come in a baggy of 10 or 15 for about 3 dollars.

did your kit include exhaust mani, TP and TIP?

    Re: GT28RS with Selet Plus

Turn off your ESP and watch the car pull even harder.

ESP retards timing and messes with the ABS. These bigger turbos play games with the ESP system. I've gotten into the habit of turning my ESP off whenever I start the car (can not be permanently turned off as far as I know).

Have you logged timing advance and correction factors (CFs The amount, in degrees, the ECU retards timing from the pre-programmed advance.)? Is your ECU pulling back timing advance? If so then you might want to tweak the Select Plus settings. Less timing advance = less power.

I'll definitely check out Lowes for the tee connectors....

The kit came with the ATP manfiold (pain to put in). Forgive the noob but what's TP and TIP?

I never knew that ESP had that affect!!!

I have the VAG COM but haven't really logged much since I'm not too familiar with how the system works. I'm waiting for my buddy to get some free time to help. He does the work for me... I prefer to drive! Don't get me wrong though; I want to learn this stuff as well and have been doing alot of reading but I find it easier to work with someone who knows this stuff rather than trying (breaking) it on my own.

    Re: GT28RS with Selet Plus

ESP doesnt do SHIT for causing power loss unless there is a traction loss sensed and you will know this since the car will fall on its face and the esp light (the triangel in the dash) will start flashing, this will almost NEVER happen in a straight line, only if you try to get on it hard in a corner, say taking off from a redlight to then turn down a road. If that isnt happening then you are not losing power, I have no idea what dougyfresh is talking about.

Actually it does. If your MAF is reading more that 229 g/s the throttle body will close, if you turn off the ESP it will override this.

Once my 2.0 is installed and we retune I'll get you dyno numbers and logs with and without ESP if you so desire. It makes a big difference on my car. Not sure about a REVO-powered vehicle.

I can get ESP to kick in when taking off from a light without turning. It would screw up just about every launch if I didn't disable it.

guess you didnt read where i said UNLESS THERE IS A TRACTION LOSS, which in the case of LAUNCHING from a light then there will be atleast a slight loss of traction or in my case all 4 tires spinning for several feet therefore causing ESP to activate.

how is the MAF going to read more than 229 what do you mean by that? the stock MAF maxes out at 229 g/s, but anyway im pretty sure he wasn't talking about someting like that, but I could be wrong.

It maxes out at 229 g/s once it hits 229 g/s for an extended period of time (meaning you are actually drawing more then 229 g/s through the MAF) you will get throttle cut, my car does, especially in second gear under full throttle, to override this the ESP needs to be turned off.

I always have ESP on, that is interesting because mine has never had throttle cut on a log

When my MAF maxes out the ESP light comes on until I let off the throttle for a bit. I also throw a code for the MAF upper limit exceeded. Is this the same thing?

I did read. You just phrased it really poorly. Read what you wrote. It says traction loss will almost never happen in a straight line.

    Just miscommunication, I guess.

yes driving in a straight line you will not lose traction, but I would think that even an educated monkey would know LAUNCHING would be an acception since that isnt normal or even aggresive driving but dropping the hammer at high rpms, so yes of course something would happen in that case.
