Thought about Chipped manual shifting pattern

So, many people claimed delayed shifting point from 1-2 and maybe 2-3 for chipped cars. I noticed it might be the drop in RPM is too large in first 3 gears.
My GIAC 91 drops from 2300 directly to below 1400 when shifting.

It is ok to me, but gotta say sorry to the car following me :( I take that as a sacrafice for getting more power without changing any hardware.

The thing I am thinking is, if I put 94 Octane gas in for the 91 programme, would it be smoother for the shifting pattern? Or it's just the way the programme is designed no matter what gas you put in?

Also, is it possible to let the tuner adjust the programme to make it smoother?

It's just annoying to clutch in for an extended time, revving to 4k RPM everytime isn't my driving since in Vancouver, you stop at almost every 2 intersections /sigh. lol

Well....you could just run the red lights...I live in Vancouver too....seems like stopping at a red is just a suggestion around here.

I'm not sure if that has to do with the software or not. I thoght engine/gear ratio's are something that is set regardless of what software you have. i.e. when you're stock you do 80 at 2600 RPM in a manual and when you're chipped you do 80 at 2600 RPM in a manual.

So RPMs are dropping too fast? Because in my stock 6-speed, shifting is very uncomfortable because the RPMs stick and don't drop fast enough.

Exactly. There are no "shift points" in a manual car. Your gear ratios are your gear ratios and your "rpm drop" has absolutely nothing to do with software.

Thanks for inputs guys. Just thought the RPM drops too slow when clutch in or in neutral, when fully release my clutch I feel jerk motion because the RPM is forced to be a lot lower than before releasing clutch.

shouldn't be a problem of synchronizer, right?

I find that I get the smoothest shifts at about 2700 RPM, almost every time I hardly ever feel the shift. Maybe try a double clutch?

I know what he's saying. Double clutching would solve it by making the shift obscenely long, haha. It's just a result of having taller gears. It's very hard to shift fast in this car.

A SSK may help...But I'm not sure what that will do to the Synchro's.

I don't. I also don't have any problem shifting fast in this car and have never heard such a complaint.

the 6 spd isn't even geared that tall. i just tried to replicate this in my own car. i only made it jerk when i added too much gas when i let the clutch back out. otherwise the rpm's fall at pretty much the right pace.
    maybe add less gas?
VW Touareg V10 TDI. Don't mess.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you, Body kits and decals are how much of a mess you leave on the wall.
