are you drunk by any chance? if you're asking whether to get a DV or BOV. go DV. i've heard that BOV arent the best for our cars because they can make the engine run either really lean or rich, with minimal grace in between.

    Re: Bov D.v

He is asking if he should re-route the HKS ssqv or not. A bov and DV are the exact same thing, thats like saying I don't drive an automotbile, I drive a car! Only VW and Audi guys say DV vs. BOV, no other group of automotive enthusiasts say that and I can't understand why.

The HKS SSQV is a Diverter valve, it's a blow off valve, its a pop off valve, its a boost valve, it's a turbo regulation valve it's a (insert other name here). Its all the same thing.

What you want to do is just continue to run the system re-routed back into the intake just like stock, don't go atmospheric. You're losing metered air from the system that the injectors have already compensated for which will cause you to run rich. Nothing good comes from running an atmospheric DV/BOV.

A bit of comentary from the DSM crowd on venting to the atmosphere: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt...tmosphere.html

Feel free to run the HKS SSQV but use this:http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=799

And Please (for the love of god) stop all this DV vs. BOV nonsense.. Its the same damn thing. It does NOT mean one is re-routed and the other atmospheric.

you are right, they are basically the same thing... however you cant say ALL BOV's are the same thing, they do the same function, taking unused boost pressure and relieving the charge side of the turbo of this excess pressure when you lift your foot off the throttle. i am not dissagreeing with anything you said, i just feel some people will want a little more information... there are some BOV's out there that cannot be setup to run the return side and only vent to the atmosphere, and there are Diverter valves that do not vent to the atmosphere unless your an idiot and dont attach the hose to the other side.... the pistons are different inside, as well as springs for holding different amounts of boost, so there are alot of differences in Diverter valves, you cant just throw any DV/BOV at an audi and have it work out correct.. (stupid return air metering system) you need to pick a DV/BOV that will do what you need it to do on your vehicle. and i would not put an HKS SSQV on an audi, it will sound retarded, it probably has a spring to hold way to much boost in it and you will get a weird flutter noise out of it when it blows off...
