If you have any pictures with your B6 and a couple bikes on top post them up. I'm thinking of buying a Yakima set up to throw my downhill and dirt/street hard tail onto. Just wondering what it looks like.

I bought the racks from audi for my bike/snowboard, wheel off set... No pics at the moment with the Rockhopper on the top but it looks sweet, just wish it was a little closer to the roof... when I throw them back on this summer I'll post a pick..

I have a Yakima system on my AVant and love it. Used to have Thule systems and feel their interface with the car is clunky. There is a thread on this topic in that "Avants only" forum, albeit that may not quite help you since you'are driving a sedan.

I have a thule. So far it has been great, no complaints. To secure the bikes i have the bar that clamps down on the front tire and just a strap on the rear tire and thats it. Its pretty easy and quick to strap them down. I have put a road bike to a downhill bike and they all have worked.

For downhill/freeride bicycles I recommend a bike tray as TEW mentioned. You want to be securing the bike via the front tire in that fashion. It provides great lateral stability and keeps the bikes in tact. Bombproof design relative to the older style where the arm clamps onto the downtube.

i have a trunk bike rack thing we use in the ML! but now we upgraded to a trailer hitch storage port thing it's the shiznit except for the fact that when u come to a stop the parktronic starts beeping!
