Spent a couple of hours with Jose Lopez of JL Automotive in Canoga Park. He was the lead at Ingolstadt West until Mr. Rooney sold the business. Jose has his own shop now. Great guy, honest and labor is inexpensive. He's got 20 years experience working on Audi's. He has experience working on BMW's as well. Interesting, to me IW doesnt feel the same as it once did. Maybe ill try it out, if he learned from Rooney, then he should be top notch.

Actually, Jose was on his own for quite some time before Mike sold IW. He is very good at what he knows, but he screwed up my Mom's X5 not long ago. For performance work, I recommend either WMS or Kevan at Performance Plus, which is less than a block from IW. Kevan was with Mike for several years, too. Performance Plus has been there for 27 years and is primarily a Porsche facility, but they're glad to work on Audis for former IW customers as well.

I have not worked with the new owners of IW much since I left, but they do ask questions of me on occasion, and they've done me some favors too. They've certainly cleaned the place up a lot, and given the aesthetics of the facility some sorely needed attention that Mike never seemed to get around to.
