    took home new A4 today

Brought my A4 SE Quattro home today. Noticed that it doesn't have day time running lights. I though this was required now in the US. Apparently its only avail with convenience pkg.

The window label doesn't show all the standard equip as on Audi's website. For instance, heated washer nozzels and rear fog light switch.

Also, the specs show that its the same size as the new Jetta, but for some reason the A4 has a much smaller trunk and less rear seat leg room.

In the hood the oil filter is on right facing the motor, and looks easy to get at, I think. It drives nice, and manual tranny shifts smooth.

You can reprogram the car's computer to have DRLs with VAG-COM. I've done this with my halogen headlights.

What a happy day, congrats on bringing home your new baby!

On a side note and no offense meant to the original poster but I find it bewildering when folks get there new car and are surprised it has this or doesn't have that. That is just so different then me, I have poor over every option and button to decided if it has things I want or don't want before I can even consider bring it home. Different folks do it differently I guess, it is just very foreign to me.

Looking to purchase a euro car that I can learn to work on, and eventually take to the track for recreation days. What is a good car to start with?

I just thought they were standard equip. The light switch dispays the rear fog light icon, but cannot figure out how to turn it on.

When you pull the switch out for the fogs, the first stop is front fogs alone, second stop (all the way out) is for the front and rear fogs.
