Being my first time at the track, not to shabby at launching an AWD for the first time. My sixty footers were almost identical at 1.907 and 1.98. All I have is a S-Flo intake and a GIAC X-chip. Everything else is stock, even the slipping clutch. The first run was with the ESP off and the second with it on. I'll post up the slips when I find my camera. The Vast Stage 3 is getting ordered first thing Monday.

Rowing skillz seem fine, he just needs to work the launch.

I bet with the Vast clutch I can hit 13 flat / 12.9 on 93 pump gas. And yes, the rowing skillz would help.

1.90 & 1.98 60' are very slow. The ET is in the 60'. You can about double the reduction in 60' in your 1/4 mile ET. Lose .3 in 60', and lose roughly .6 in 1/4 mile. And there's nothing like a good, hard launch.

Seems like good ET given your mods.

How are you launching? Good times, but yes, those 60' times are pretty slow for a AWD car. Are you launching easy due to the clutch?

Yeah, I launched at about 2500 rpm for the first and 3000 for the second due to the clutch. It smells like clutch hell right now throughout the interior because of the launches. If I was able to launch at 4K I bet my 60 foot times would've been a great deal better. ESP on the second launch was my fault.

Thanks. Regarding the 60 ft. time, I thought it was for every .1 you lose in the quarter, you gain .3 in the 1/4. That's the rule of thumb I went by. I thought that I had decent times given the 60 ft. time being so piss poor, but with a clutch and more launch practice, I might be able to hit low 13's to a 12.99. We'll see.

I would hardly call that a launch. My first time at the track I managed to pull a low 1.8 (still shitty), but it pulled hard. Those launches were done at about 42-4500

Low 1.8s aren't "shitty" 1.9s are "shitty". Getting this 3500pd pig through the first 60ft in 1.8sec isn't bad at all, especially with stock clutch.

was that with the stock clutch, or after stage III? cause I'm sure it can handle a few of those launches, but not too many I'd imagine...

I figure that even with the shitty 1.98 60 ft., I still hit a 13.4 with a clutch that is a damn near on it way out. The times aren't too bad considering I forgot to turn off ESP on the second run. What are some of the best 1/4 mile times with just a X Chip and a intake for comparison?

I did 13.45 @ 99.5 mph on just an APR 93oct Chip (with 19's BBs Ch's on the car) I was launching at 3000rpm and getting 1.8 60-ft's all day.

I did this back when I was stage 2, but I had an rs4 clutch at the time.

I did a 1.71 60' on general tires and a stock clutch with 123000 miles on it and stage 1. Was consistantly doing this too. Held the rpm at exactly 3700. Was jsut enough so the clutch wouldnt "let go" but still enough to move off the line. Anything above this the clutch completely fell apart and burnt. Anything below was just a mediocre launch. Im having some traction problems with stage 3 now though. need it to warm up for these new tires to hook.
