    How much on a TIP tranny

    How much power can they handle before they start to have problems??
    i know this has probably been dicussed a million times before but im a newb and cant find anything on it, although a friend at the dealership told me probably around 300hp and 280ftlbs??
    i have no idea if this is true or not

    assuming you have a B6 310Nm is the max input tq which is about 228ft lbs. Not very much. I have heard of guys running more tq with upgrading the line pressure for the transmission but prolonged usage like that will greatly diminish the life of the trans

    yea, boosting line pressure will help for a limited time, then it will fail... if you only wanted to use it for a limited time, then rebuild it every couple weeks like drag racing guys do with there cars you could boost line pressure and run the hell out of it with a BT, but thats probably not an option for you, as probably like most of us, this is your daily driver

    i dont have the car yet im still a couple of months away from purchase
    but i would just like to know facts so i can make a well imformed choice
    but yes it will be my daily driver

    if you havnt bought the car yet, buy a 6-spd, and if you can drive stick yet, you still have a few monthes to learn!!

    yea i can drive stick but
    i do a lot of just cruising around
    and my current civic is a stick
    and i dont like cruising with a stick and in stop and go traffic
    its just annoying

    i know what you mean but driving my a4 is so much easier on the daily then driving my civic, both are manual trans. i almost bought an auto for convenience but decided not to after test driving the 6spd
