    Diverter Valve part number?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I called YBH Audi yesterday because I wanted to purchase a new diverter valve for my car since mine is on it's way out. (I hear loud whistling at WOT). Anyway I call them up and I ask to be connected to the parts department. I tell the man at the parts department the make model and year of my car. I then proceed to ask him if I could swing by and pick up a diverter valve for my car if they had any in stock. He tells me that he doesn't know what a diverter valve is. I then tell him the turbo valve the, the valve on the end of the turbo. He tells me well there are many valves on the car get me a part number or something. I wanted to tell him, you work on these cars everyday and you don't even know what a diverter valve is. Anyway I would appreciate it if anyone could provide me with the part number so I can swing by the dealership and pick one up today. Thanks.

Get a Forged DV instead. If your car is chipped, this is the best way to go.

In fairness to the parts guy, Audi doesn't actually call it a "Diverter Valve". Technically, it's called a "Turbocharger Recirculating Valve N249" in Bentley and a "cut-off valve" in ETKA. Regardless, the part you want is 06F-145-710 C <-- the last letter is the revision. I don't know what the latest rev. is, though....ask your parts guy

Thanks a lot mksap. That was a huge help. I guess we all just throw around the word diverter valve on the forum I figured that is what the parts department called it too. Thanks again.

    Re: Diverter Valve part number?

Go to ECS Tuning. They have the latest stock version which is G and the forge valve as well. A lot of people on the forum have the forge valve but I've heard conflicting opinions on the valve as its piston based (maintenance required). APR is supposedly working on an R1 valve (improved version similar to oem) that will fit our cars but no word on when it will be released. APR has recommended the OEM G rev valve over forge. Either way ECS has both valves.

    Re: Diverter Valve part number?

Is it possible to replace the DV (Turbo re-circulating valve) in my own garage or is this a more complicated job suited for a car shop? If possible then can someone point me to a write up, I searched for a long time and could not find one.

I am pretty sure that mine is on its way too but no CEL yet and obviously the dealer rep (McGrath Audi, Glenview IL) tells me that the car is performing up to the spec and that 19/20mpg 50/50% city highway driving is better than most people. I thought that I'll jump over the counter and choke the guy when I heard that.

He also told me that the high mpg is because I have dirty injectors and need the $125 injector cleaning service at 39,000 miles.

Sorry I needed to vent. I guess with all that free maintenance they cannot afford reps that have some level of knowledge about these cars.
