there is a drain plug on the bottom, it uses a large allen head... and there is also a fill plug on the side, also uses a larg allen.... do no overtighten them you will pull the threads out of the case.. good luck

as long as you use a full synthetic 90w gear oil, you will be fine.... and AudiA4_20T i think you killed your tranny launching the piss out of it way to much.... 5000rpm launched will eventually break something... i should have posted this on your thread but whatever... i know you wanna lay blame on something, but it was just wear and tear on your tranny that killed it, sure it didnt break the first 500 times you launched at 5000+rpm, but it was making things weaker with all the added stress of launching an A 3000lb awd car... so the one day you lauched it and it killed it it just couldnt take the stress anymore...

who would you recomend to build the Trany to hold a lot of power and a lot of launching at red line.

Re: what type of trans fluid do I use

get a good clutch for one, umm, there isnt much you can do internally.... except replace parts when you break them... full-throttle launches are fun, but they break things, even full on race cars are breaking parts, they just know they are gonna break them so they rebuild every so often for good measure.... a good clutch, and a nice driveshaft and custom axles would let you launch with a little bit of peace of mind, but there really isnt much you can do internally for your trans, just dont beat the hell out of it if you cant afford to fix it...

the vw guys love MT-90, i know a few audi guys that have used the AMSoil stuff in the tranny, and they swear by it. My next tranny fluid change will be to the AMSoil.

FYI B5 transmissions fit in our cars... So for $300ish you can be back on the road... Just get the Redline MT90 in there and a good clutch . These are strong transmissions and the B5 ones are even stronger

motul 75w90 was used in the DIY i saw, and ive got some mobil 1 75w90 waiting for me to stop being lazy. just make sure its a full synthetic fluid. basically, you drain it, then fill it until it starts coming out the fill hole(hole is on the side). i heard it takes around 3.5quarts. do a search for the DIY.
