    Repairing Road Rash

Sorry for the blatantly unnecessary thread on this overly discussed issue, however, I searched and came up with nothing.

I have the Audi OEM 5 split spoke painted wheels. They're somewhat beat up due to the lovely MA roads, and I was interested in getting them repaired. Got a quote and my local place waned $150+ per wheel to repair them. I took a look at the thread in the Tech section (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113983) but its for rash on a polished section.

I'm looking for directions (and the correct paint and clear coat) to do a repair on a painted rim. I thought I saw a link here for instructions but I couldn't find it. Any help is appreciated.

My suggestion is buy brand new wheels/tires and keep those as your winter wheels with winter tires because IMO it's not worth 600 bucks to repair the stock 16's/17's. My .02

Live with it, fix it yourself, or buy new rims.

    Re: Repairing Road Rash

I have new rims (two sets of new rims, BBS CH and LM's) so these are my winter ones. I wanted to do it myself but could only find a guide for polished rims, and was wondering if anyone knew of one for a set of painted rims or could just tell me the correct paint to use to match the OEM 5 split spoke wheels.

Is this what you are looking for? It's supposed to apply to all German wheels and I plan on giving it a try in a couple of weeks:
