235/45 17 how to protect from pot holes

Since these new A4's come with such a low profile tire, how do you protect from blow outs. Where I live the roads are very bumpy washboard typ roads with pot holes, some of which are also the highway. I hear many horror stories, and I'm supposed to pickup my new A4 2.0 2008 SE Quattro tomorrow

235/45's arn't that low. the roads around here arn't that great either just avoid the big pot holes. 35's is where you start to have to worry.

the stock 17's holds up pretty well so far. Ive had the car for 2 years and the rims are still in good condition. I just changed the tires out at around 30k miles and the techs didnt mention anything about any bends/dents in the rims. Here in New Orleans, there are tons of potholes and rough roads. Unlike my last car, the stock 17 alloys bend pretty easily and I ended up bending 3/4 rims. Just check and maintain your tire pressure and be aware of your surroundings and you should be good.

235/45 isn't low profile... unless you're comparing it to tires on trucks / SUV's.
You'll be fine.

Got the car, and loving it. Its Red. Just hope its not stollen while I'm parked at a parking lot. It rides nice, though I didn't push it yet in the 99 miles back from dealer. I plan on checking tires in the morning. Didn't see TPMS listed on window sticker.
