Quick Question !!!!

I think I might have found the S4 for me but first things first I need it to get it checked out by a mechanic. Where would be the best place to take it to get it fully checked out? If you can give me a name and phone # that would be great thanks !

3zero3motorsports.com for the phone number. had them check out my B5 A4 and they were thorough as hell...told me everything going on.

DO NOT SKIP OUT ON THE MECHANICAL CHECK!!! A B5 S4 will cost you thousands in repairs if you don't get a car that has kept up on maintenance. I'd try and make sure the seller either replaces everything necessary or you can plan on putting a lot of money into it within one year. this pertains to a car with over 70K miles on it.

normal maintenance by 95K miles will probably require the following:

Timing Belt Job (T-Belt, Water Pump, Serpentine Belt, Pulleys, Thermostat, etc)
Possibly needing two new turbos
02 Sensors
Valve Cover Gasket

Be sure to listen for an abnormally loud rattle within the engine because this can mean a bad cam chain tensioner. This doesn't normally go bad out east in humidity, but in Colorado's dry weather its fairly common and ridiculously expensive to fix!

I called Autosport Werks and talked to a guy named Brayn. This place is about two min away from me and the guy insured me that if anything was wrong with it he will find it so its going in Tuesdy. I will post up pics as soon as I get a hold of it if everything checks out. Its an amazing looking car, its nogaro, RS4 bumper, wide body, m6, blue alactra or however you spell it lol. Timing belt just changed, MTM chip, DVs, and TBB replaced, and yeah hopefully it will be mine in the next few days !!!

Up date if anyone gives a shit lol. Got it looked at today and just my luck and gut feeling it needs some work, huh. About $3380.35 to be exact. So like I said above the guy is asking 17k for it, ha......It just clicked over 83k and it is wide body and for sure has some money into it. This car blue books for $14,660 and if it was in perfect condition I was planning on offering 15.5 to 15.8 which is very fair imo. Well since it needs $3400 worth of work I offered him 13.5....Ouch.....and I am going to go with my gut feeling agin saying that he will turn it down and my hunt continues, sad day......We will see.

Well I have the est right here so this is what needs to be done...
- Valve cover gaskets, tensioner gaskets, cam seals. $1150.00
- Auxillary water pump, heater pipe o-ring, intake gaskets. $683.35
And this one needs to get done very very badly, the front two wheeles had about 5in of slop in them when moving them back and forth
- CONTROL ARM KIT, align. $1450.00
- Cruise control dose not work so cruise diag = $105.00
Then the one thing I would would not hold him responsible for paying is the 90k service which is $575.00 and I would just get that done when doing everything els.
This car has all the right parts to be nothing but AMAZING just needs some good TLC which I hope I can give it to it because this car is one of a kind!!!!

But I have been talking to that guy with the a4 for a few weeks now and if this falls through I will go up and take a look at his car. The only thing is it is a little out of my price range but always worth a look.

yeah it's out of my price range as well...i'd drop everything and buy his car if i could somehow get it for $22K. possibly without navi, wheels, and maybe a few other items. i'd leave the engine intact though.

amazing as they are, B5 S4's are one of the most costly cars to own that i've ever seen. people throw thousands into them yearly to keep 'em up and running...depending on the car you get it just isn't worth it. so lets say he fixes everything on your list, what's going to happen a year from now? i can guarantee there will be something significant...

I ll fix it lol, I like the b5s way to much, and it seems like Autosport Werks will keep me up and running ! But we will see how everything plays out? Might just end up buying a Geo and call it good haha......

I'm very flexible with what mods stays on or off the car to lower the price range a bit. I've got most of the stock parts to put this car back to stock form.

Any reasonable offer gets this with the car ;D

ohh man that CF spoiler is incredible. i'd be worried that the black door blades would look a little out of place with a CF trunk spoiler though. just my .02 cents.

if the engine were to stay intact, what would need to be taken off in order to get the car down to $22K Luis?

So I was just looking for parts on the internet that I might want to buy for the car that I will hopefully get sooooooon and hopefully the Nogaro I posted above. But anyways I just ordered an RS4 grill for a car I dont have yet lol........Dumb ass haha.

My reasoning? The car above has the rs4 bumper and everyting but the grill that goes in the hood is just a plain mesh that dose not match so I fig why not if I dont get that one I can stick it in the S4 I do find. Still what a dumb ass lol
