I waxed my car yesterday and i noticed it has a shit load of scratches, what is the best and cheapest way to get rid of all these scratches considering my budget is no where near a new paint job

    Re: Scratches

A PC will get some scratches out, but Audi clearcoat is really hard. I'd take it to get professionally done if you want results. Otherwise, unless you know how to use a rotary, you'll only be able to slightly improve the paint.

EDIT: saw your car was black. I'd seriosuly recommend just throwing in the cash to get an exterior detail. I used a PC on a friends black audi and it took forever to get mediocre results.

    Re: Scratches

I buffed my car for the first time with a friends portible cable buffer yesterday and couldnt be happier. It did take me all day but i went over the car twice with 2 different polishes. Can't get the deep scratches out but great for swirl marks.

black ftl! when it scomes to keeping it clean

first, wash all of the dirt off

then clay bay and clear vinegar, for light scratches and H20 spots...

    then wash again

then glaze...just rub it on and buff it off (helps BIG TIME)...let it harden for about 2 hours

    then wash again

then it's time to trap the glaze onto the paint with a GOOD wax...for black cars the best wax ever is zymol (theres one made specifically for black cars)...

and then you can wash it again!

your car will look 100x better!!!

I have brilliant black and i just did this last weekend...took a whole day, but the car looks soooo much better....well worth the time!

I did EVERYTHING by hand...it took about 50+ microfibers and about 30$ worth of product....

it woulda been nice to have a couple friends helping me wipe off the glaze haze and the wax haze...

Scratch-x by meguiars is amazing stuff for minor scratches. works best with a buffer but can be used by hand
