    Monument vs C-Springs vs ????

OK, so here's the deal: It's been almost a year since I graduated from the Academy and left Colorado. In those 4 years at USAFA, I absolutely fell in love with the state...it was a complete 180* from what my life was like growing up in Southern California.

So, now that I've become a little wiser with my investments and savings, I'm looking into purchasing a house back in Colorado (hopefully in Southern Colorado). My question to the current residents is: Out of the all the cities, which is showing the most development?

From what I can remember, the Powers and Academy Blvd areas of Colorado Springs were exploding with new businesses, homes, etc. My sponsor family lived in Monument, and I loved that area. Also, a few of my classmates at the Academy were from Monument and enjoyed growing up in the area. Any other cities you could recommend would help me out a ton. Thanks in advance!!

    -Matt

PS. I'd like to keep it somewhat close to the Academy area...I'm hoping one of my future children will continue the family tradition and head to USAFA

Monument is kinda blowing up. When were you here? We have a new shopping center with a walmart, office depot, petsmart, kohls, and a bunch of other stuff. housing wise there isn't a ton but definetly more then there use to be.

I left Colorado back in June of 2007. I'm heading back at the end of next month to commission my cousin and watch him graduate from the Academy, so I'll be talking to a few realtors while I'm back in town. I miss it so much, can't wait to go back!!

Mounument is really growing, new HS going in, but the prices are also goign way up as well. If you want to stay in the Springs area for working, you could go south, a lot of people make the communte from Pueblo to the Springs, Pueblo west is expanding, towards the NW side of town there is an area where the house are all on about an acre of land.

Out of the people I have spoken over the phone trying to find relocation assistance for me and my family in the south Denver area I found http://www.chloewelcomesyouhome.com/ to be the most helpful and knowledgeable. Not only was I looking for homes, but great location, great school district, proximity to particular outdoor activities and such. I found her to be best equipped given her knowledge with real estate market, area development and her extensive involvement with her kids' school activities. Give her a call you won't be disappointed.
