Hey guise, I would like to know the diameter of our oem B7 A4 exhaust. Is it uniform from the catalytic converter all the way back?

    Pics?

I had one on my last 1.8t and it sounded like a tractor... pretty loud, but nowhere near as annoying as I thought it would be, I drove around with it open all the time and it was great.

But 2.0t with a test pipe should be much louder. I'm hoping to sound like a loudspeaker placed directly inside of a 3" straight exhaust from a diesel engine

I know. That's why I'm putting on a Forge spacer to be original, finally.

    Re: Stock exhaust diameter?

The thing is that the down pipe gives the most gains.

I have TP and AWE and it is F^&%in loud. I can't imagine driving with an exhaust that's even louder.

panamera, HOW is the tiptronic transmission the problem? does it interfere with space for a larger downpipe?

    Re: Stock exhaust diameter?

^^^Well that's right the tip tranny is bigger than manual so those aftermarket downpipes made for manuals do not fit the tip. I'm not sure how much (or how much less) room is down there exactly hence my question. But I'm pretty positive that you can always get an exhaust shop to custom make a "larger" downpipe to fit tip cars, only in a different shape to the manual downpipe if you know what I mean.

Any cabin drone with the AWE? I don't mind loud at high revs but can't stand droning.

Anyone knows the size of the stock downpipe on tip cars?

Also if anyone tip owners had his/her full exhaust custom made, what's the largest diameter downpipe can you fit down there?
