Fluids?

Hey everyone,

I just got my A6 2.7T 6M. I was just wondering -- what types/brands of fluids do you guys use when servicing your cars? My car has about 150k miles, and I was assuming I need synthetic oil... I'm just trying to figure out what would be best to preserve the car, as well as to aid in performance or anything like that.

So, what do you all choose when buying auto fluids?

use a nice synthetic oil of course, like castrol or Mobile 1, alot of people use "elf" oil i think, im redoing my brakes this weekend including new lines and using ATE super blue since mine is a 99 and doesn't have magn. internals, i need to flush that green crap out of my radiator and put in the G12+ i just got in as well, haven't got to my diff's or transmission yet, its on my list of things

Hey Exio im near Pittsburgh , PA to, ( Uniontown ) listen your car has 150K on it, did you change turbos or have any major problems yet???......oh and i use Castrol synthetic, audi garage says change it every 10,000 miles but i think im going to start doing it about every 5-6,500 miles, GL

yeah i have 150k and original turbos... no problems so far. I'm sure I'll be upgrading to the k04s or the g28's or whatever they're called.

thanks for the tips with oil -- I just need to figure out what I want to go with.

I'm going to do my changes probably every 5k miles.

Frank, what area of Uniontown? I'm a little familiar with the area, specifically masontown i think.

Im in Masontown , PA , right across the bridge from carmichaels , i just say Uniontown , no one knows about masontown really, Where in Pittsburgh are you at? im there all the time.

But yeah my car has 66,000 miles on it , but i think im going to start doing it every 5K miles just to be safe. and the Castrol Syn i use is like almost $7 a quart.

Yeah i forget the area specifically... Driving, i know it well... But from memory I don't remember much heh. I'm actually around Pittsburgh, Wexford specifically.

Sounds like the Castrol syn would be good for oil. I'll have to do that later today.

No problem, yeah i know the Wexford area, do you go to any Audi/VW meets or gatherings around Pittsburgh?

i just picked up my a6 last week, so i haven't really done much yet... there is something going on tomorrow around Cranberry that I'll probably go to... other than that, theres some big thing going on in Carlisle PA that I'm about to register for.
