How the hell did this happen?????

At first I thought I had a cracked head but somehow I missed my cat just hanging there.

    I think it's time for a testpipe.

Yes, it happens to the stock cat. When this happened in my A4, I popped it back in with a prybar on the back of the cat and welded the flange. Called it good.

BUT if you don't want to deal with that I have an OEM cat that is gutted for sale - and yes the flange is welded up. $45 shipped. It came off my 1999 1.8t AEB a4.

Mine did it when I unbolted it. No leaks previously, I'm guessin the little bit it hung up on the bolts must have done just enough to separate the flange from the Cat, pipe.

Mine broke in the same spot three years ago and was fixed under the emissions warranty. Dealer flashed my ECU and I lost my chip. Not cool... You can really hear the turbo with it busted like that. I only drove it to the dealer to get it fixed though.

happened to me a while back. probably like 2 years ago. i just had it welded back on to the flange. now it just sits in a box in my attic since i dont use it anymore. and obviously dont drive it around for too long without it fixed. when thsi happened to me i only drived it to the shop like 5 minutes from my house.
