It is supposed to be 5 hours of engine running time. I did the trial before buying - save yourself the hassle and just buy it, you won't regret it!

the trial is long enough for you to fall in love with it. then it goes away with you wanting more. It is by far the best sales pitch ever. kinda like strippers.

Re: how long is revo trial period?

I was just wondering because I went to Eurocode yesterday and asked for the Revo trial flash and that I would come back just before 5pm to get it done.. then when I got there Jeremy flashed the ECU and we chatted some. I honestly wasn't paying attention to the process much but I did happn to glance at the laptop and Icould swear (thinking back on it) that it was showing APR info on the screen and appeared to be installing APR software.

I didn't think aything of it until this morning whe I got in the car and the car is still ruing chipped and I thought it was 5 hours total time, not run time. I didn't think about the run time possibility until I was posting this up so I don't know...

I guess if by some stroke of luck they accidetally flashed me with APR software I'll swing by there and see what the deal is. I don't want them to think I would try to make them lose money if they really did give me the full ECU flash.. that'd be dishonest and I don't do that.. but hopefully they'll give me a discount on it if that is the case!

I would be surprised if they gave you an APR flash if you asked for REVO, but I guess it is possible. When you go back for the full version tell them you also want the Revo Select switch and see if they hand you an APR unit! Personally I felt that the full REVO flash was even better than the trial version. The ECU definitely takes a bit of time to settle into the new settings so it seems to get better and better. Word of advice though, I would run your car to the dealer and get the latest ECU update THEN go back and get the full REVO install.

I didn't do the trial, just went all out and got the full flash. I've heard the trial is only running about 80% of the actual flash.

Ya, make sure you get the select plus switch (although i guess you dont have to buy it at the same time if youre strapped for cash) when you get the full revo. Since when does apr have a "unit"?

That is correct, the trial is about 80% of the real deal.

^^probably a smart idea to run the trial software at 80% capacity...if anyone's stock DV went bad because of the software they might lose customers.

Highly unlikely that this would happen though. My tuner says that he rarely sees blown DV's these days. You read about it a lot on this forum which probably makes it seem that as soon as you get a chip you blow the DV. This is simply not the case.

I went to my local Revo dealer for the trial and he ended just telling me that he would discount the full flash if I skipped the trial. I knew I was gonna get the full flash so it was win win for both of us.

    1. You dont need bigger injectors for stage 2 unless you have the 1.8T.
    2. you can either get a testpipe or a high flow cat. Testpipes are cheaper but if you need to pass emissions then a high flow cat would probably be better.
    3. If you are talking about the Forge diverter valve that will work fine. If you are talking about the Forge BOV spacer that will work fine also but people have had issues with them leaking.

Well, EuroCode is an authorized APR and REVO technik dealer so it's a possibility they could have mistakenly flashed you with APR instead of REVO. Just make sure to confirm that it's a REVO flash when you go back there.

I purchased my B7A4 on a Saturday and chipped it that following Monday with less than 200 miles. I can honestly say that I tore my DV that same day But with the newly revised DV, I doubt you'll have that same problem. Nevertheless, torn DV used to be the biggest discussed issue when getting chipped. The old DV solenoids had their limitations and were not capable of running increased boost pressures - thus failing.
