no, just read your manual, the steps are there. makes me wonder if your dealer really changed the oil if they were too lazy to reset the light =T

manual says it will show dashes for the first 300 miles then it will give a mileage interval. so all is good, they did their job!

Be careful. My mom took her B5 in for an oil change and she got it back with the oil light on so she assumed theyjust didn't reset it. Well, they didn't even put oil in it. Make sure they did their job.

    For European A4...

    Turn off the ignition
Press and hold the button on the left side of the display
while turning the ignition on Service OIL will be displayed
Pull out the button on the right side of the display until the service prompt is cleared
The display should now read ---
If the above procedure does not work, outlined below is an alternative procedure:
With the ignition off, push the right button
Turn the ignition on and then pull the left button
This should clear the warning message

Re: Dealer didnt reset oil change light. Can I do at home?

Why in the world would any dealer charges you $100+ dollars for oil service and not even touch the car to begin with? I'm not saying that this is true, but I would throw a big fit if I ever find out that they:

    1. take my money,
    2. waste my time,
    3. left my car sitting in the shop
    and
    4. left for lunch with my $$$ while my car sits in the shop.
