UPDATED PICTURES ON POST #69

Well I have not posted up in a little while, so here are some updated pictures of the car as it sits now. I am still waiting for my bumper so the trip to a completed rebuild is almost done. I had to replace my two lower control arms on the passenger side and I bought a complete control arm kit because I did not know what was damaged and it was cheaper than trying to piece it out, so if anyone needs some control arms let me know as I will be selling the remaining pieces.

The CF interior was actually an after thought. I had wanted to do it for a while but didn't want to deal with the down time .........

Well the accident took care of the down time for me so since I had to fight the insurance and the car was just sitting there, out came the interior .........

I had a sport steering wheel and sold it. This is a Victor Racing steering wheel from Germany with an air bag. I get a lot of flack for it but I like it and it feels a lot better than my sport steering wheel ........

Its not really my say but I think you need to slow down a lil with how much CF you have on the inside. You are driving a audi this is not a Honda. Although its really CF to me its to much. But since its not my car you can do whatever you want. Enjoy.

It is going to be a bit longer too seeing that terry is in the hospital, in case you didn't see Winstons post about that.


Fred is also missing a few CF pieces that terry has and he now knows it might be a while before he gets them.

The CF armrest was actually a fix. Mine had broken all the way around and the only thing holding it on was the padding. The dealer wanted $125 for the center armrest cover alone and this was better IMHO and cost less, plus this one will not break.

I don't know how the CF is considered being like a Honda? 9 of the pieces that I had done, come from the factory like this on the RS4. I don't see any Honda's that come from the factory with real CF on the interior ......

So if anything Honda guys are trying to be like Audi's .........

The molding was removed when I bought the car. The previous owner didn't like the way the car came out of the body shop with the side skirts and the molding so he sent it back and had it removed and then I bought it ..... what a nice guy ........

It is not DIY unless you arr good with body work as you have to weld, fill, and smooth before you paint.

yeah i saw the post. from what i understand from the PM Terry sent me my pieces were done though.....cuz he said they would be to me on XX day. I just hope they are done, and that they werent able to be shipped. I want to sell my S4, but cant do it with my a4 in shambles. on a good note though, i did get my JHM short shifter today. with my center console out it will be easier to install

After the accident is when I decided to do the CF group buy, so my car was wrecked and my interior was almost completely gutted. My car truly looked either totaled or like a theft recovery ............

I was happy when I received my pieces back because I was kind of embarrassed driving my car back and forth to the body shop in the condition that it was in .......

My interior looks a lot better now but I am still missing several pieces so I will also be playing the waiting game. I know they will get here soon and I am glad that Terry is getting better so there is nothing really to worry about because he does great work and is a great guy ......

im not sure what he used, but he had to use a different set because they came out to flimsy or something....ill have to go through my 500 PMs and see why...but i dont think he used mine. whenever i get it though ill post pics as its kevlar/cf. im really excited to get it, just hate the waiting game. Im glad terry is getting better though. i feel bad that i called him 2 times this week trying to get a hold of him, and he is in the hospital......my bad. oh well, ill have the parts soon enough. i just opted for the dash and trim pieces though....dont even have the shifter surround and i dont need it on the ashtrays.

I am not sure who is the biggest CF whore, you or mike :) either way it looks good, steering is different, im not sure how i feel about it though. It fits the car nicely.

Mike = Kevlar whore

Me = Carbon whore

On a side note another up and coming CF whore is Sushi Turbo as I sold him my CF fenders. He has yet to post any pictures ..... ..... but he also has a CF hood and trunk.

The race is on, who will own the most CF pieces on there B5. I work at a composites shop and i handle MASS amounts of pre preg carbon, kevlar, etc. I would love to get into making some molds up for various body panels. Ahh to dream.

Thats right seeing that I only have 1 part that is CF on my car, but I have 7 big parts on the car that are Kevlar and even my race seats inside the car are made of Kevlar.

Yeah, Mike has more square footage than me especially with those doors and fenders, but he is running out of functional pieces to replace where as I can overlay just about anything ......

Even though it does not equal a lot of square footage, I am still missing quite a few pieces. Once they are installed I will update with some more and better pictures. Taking pictures at high noon = lots of glare and bad lighting ......

that, and high end supercars. have you ever seen a Ferrari F50 or Enzo up close. part of the chassis. most of the interior. and all of the body panels are made out of carbon fiber. shit's strong, light, and looks good... at least you're getting the look good part on those overlays, Fred
