rehardwired the V1 and fixed the ADR V1 interface

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
there was a timing issue with the ADR box, I had to upgrade the firmware to fix it.

if anybody is considering this box over the "hidden/stealth" display, I would HIGHLY recommend this option!

you can set the V1 to automute below a certain speed, see all the displays in the DIS, and mute any alerts by hitting the volume up/down key!

Re: rehardwired the V1 and fixed the ADR V1 interface

What locations did you use to hardwire the V1?

Did the ADR need power too, or just the CAN signals? How much of a pita was it to get the nav out, stuff the adr in there, and get the nav back in?

This is something I've wanted for a while....

I'm confused, ADRs site seems to be down and a number of people have been saying recently that they went out of business. Also, I read one member send them an email and never heard back... So how did you contact them?

Audi is suing them for whatever reason (Audi being Audi ) I don't think they are answering sales emails, but they are helping with support still.

i tapped 75X, you can also tap a fuse off the box

you use the V1 direct hardware (which is essentially a 1 to 3 RJ11 splitter). you give the hardwire adapter power, plug your V1 in to the main port and the ADR in accessory port (where you would normally plug in a remote display)

the CAN signals are two wires off the back of the headunit, really simple. stuffing the ADR back there was not a problem, I have my DICE and ADR back there and may soon have my Dietz MMI

does anyone know what happens if you have the Nav directions on the color display and then your V1 gets some signals. Can you pick which you want to see?

I have the ADR, but I am sticking with the V1 + concealed display.
If any of your warnings pop up, you lose your V1 display with the ADR.

Concealed display may not be as cool, but it works. And out on the road, you need something that just plain works.

looks slick but I don't believe it will fit most of our cars. Our rear view mirrors don't have an arm like that to clamp on to.
