depo tails/smoked

Does anyone have pics of the taillights smoked, just the clear sections?
Also was searching ebay and saw these. They look pretty cool
just wondering if anyone has these on there car?

And also, have anyone used Lamin X for the tails/headlights???
I see that many of b7 guys use it, and that seems pretty nice.

Lamin-X works well on a B6 just like the B7. However even their lightest shade is very dark (too dark imo) when put over a red tail light.

Black-out tails remind me of those hard plastic 'GTO' tail light covers guys use to put on their late model camaros and 5.0 mustangs.

A smoked tail can look great. But IMO that means a very light and subtle shade. I've only seen 1 or 2 audi's on this sight with decent looking smoked tails. A majority of them are too blacked-out and look trashy to me.

I've seen those taillights before. I actually like them, they're not gawdy like most aftermarket tails. Wish they had smoked LED ones.

the only thing with depos is that i always here about them fogging up...maybe re-seal them yourself when you get them...theyre pretty cheap.

I bought a set of tinted Depos from a member on here and absolutely love them. Had them on for 2 years now and no problems and I live in the super unpredictable weather of New England.

I've gaot a pair of depo tinted tails, new in box. Never used them - went with the LED tails instead.

They were sprayed with Niteshades tinting spray paint. Paint it darker than what you would want, then use a medium compound and polish to desired darkness.

Thanks.. I've been debating the nightshades but everyone i've seen has been a little too dark for my taste. I'm thinking I might have to try it now. Didn't realize you posted what u used on the top of the pic when I first looked at ur post. Sorry I kinda thread jacked.

Paint it pretty dark, use lots of light coats. After your done painting the paint will look dark and with a dull finish, wait a day for it to cure/dry, then polish it with a medium rubbing compound. The more rubbing you do, the lighter the tint gets and it will have a more glossy finish. So rub until you have your desired darkness and put a coat of wax on when your done.
