    New wheels don't look right?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys my wifes old 18" wheels were looking bad so I picked up some OE RS4 replicas in 18". I had a set of their RS6 wheels for my A6 and loved them. These things don't look right I love the RS4 wheels I have seen. I think I need spacers for starters. I am not sure that is it though. The car has H&R springs since we bought it. The other wheels looked fine. I am just so disapointed like a kick in the groin!

    Their specs are 18 x 8 / 45mm

    Any how here you go!

Re: New wheels don't look right?

Guys....arent there two version of these wheels?

Dont the OE RS4 wheel have flat spokes, while the "other" VMR wheels have the more curved spokes?

    That might be his misconception....

seems like spokes don't flare out as much as VM reps, and definitely not as much as OEM wheels.

No need to be that disappointed... you could always just get some 19s.

Those make a damn fine winter set-up. RS6s are simple and look good as well

i think the spokes are flat and 18's DO look small (probably the amount of tire as stated before).

Re: New wheels don't look right?

thats a HIGH offset for a B6... i think because of the full face (spokes, in this case), the spokes are flattened out to push them to 45mm.

Re: New wheels don't look right?

that black car has jut got way wider wheels and, relative to the wheel, a narrower tire, making the tire tuck under the fender all nice and pretty like...

if ur wife is driving this car, don't push it too wide b.c it takes away all the protection the tire gives the wheel, and wheel scratches r'nt fun!

also, maby get a thicker tire, to decrease the gap in the wheel well...

it does have a bit of a 4x4 look, but a rly nice 4x4 ;)

Re: New wheels don't look right?

If you wanted it to look like the black A4, then you need to look at 19" wheels with an ET35 offset. Go with VMR to get a little more curve and depth. Then you'll have it!

P.S. Your A4 is also sitting a little bit higher than the other one too.

i bet if the rims were black, it would look alot better. Or maybe even a darker color like gunmetal, if you dont like black rims.

Usualy reps are +35 which gives them more of curved shape instead of flat. 10mm-12mm spacers will bring you flush.

Not sure what reps those are, but that offset of +45 you have is the reason why it looks different in your eyes. Here at VMR ours are 8.5" +38 and sit flush on 235 series tires.

I have RS4 reps, but I ordered the +35et on purpose cause the 42 is a bit week looking. Those are 18x8 but the deeper offset makes them bulge a bit more and they look a lot better.
