Guys looking at a set of reps thinking either 19 x 8.5 et 30 or 18 x 8.5 et30.. What tire sizes should I run with either on a 03 a4 avant. Car has sport suspension right now but plan on a drop shortly after rims.

Chime in.. should I go 19's or 18's? will not run these in the winter so... How bad is the ride on 19's?

ET's look a little low based on what we recommend. 235/40-18 and 235/35-19 are what we use

18 to 19 isn't too much of a big difference in comfort. 17 to 19 is quiet noticeable though. 18" wheels have a larger selection in tires then 19". I love both and really cant side with any. But i would go with 18" if i tracked the car.

I'm in the exact same situation. Planning on new wheels, followed by coilovers. I want to do the occasional track event. Just curious why you prefer 18" for the track.

Definitely more tire options in an 18" fitment, but the 19's look better on the B6.

Would love to hear your thoughts on 18" for the track!

The smaller the wheel, the better. Smaller wheels are lighter and honestly are cheaper to replace if you f one up. alot of us have something like a set of OZ SL's in 17x8's for the track. ~16.5lbs and solid. tires for 17" wheels are also alot cheaper and there are a ton of options out there. once you move to 18's there are less options, the wheels are heavier and the tires are more expensive.

i have a set of 18's for winter, set of 18's being made right now for summer use and 2 sets of 17's for track use. both my 17's are all curbed up, scratched and look like shit. But that is what happens.

    Re: 19 's or 18 's

19s are only a problem if you live near crappy, patched roads. I went from 17s to 19s and I faced the same fear. However, 75% of the roads near me are decent or recently repaved. The drive trade off is difficult because when you walk up to your car in a parking lot, the 19s just look so sweet. However, there weren't many tire options and the 19s are like $40 more a tire (from limited selection) give or take.

So it's looks vs selection/price/ride quality.
