Obviously. Where do you ever see HP listed at the wheels when you look at any manufacturers web site?

    Re: horsepower?

My stock 03 1.8t Quatro was Dyno measured at the wheels.

    HP 119.1 @ 6250 RPM and torque 123.7 @ 3750 RPM

after stage 1 REVO we measured

    HP 132.3 @ 5500 RPM and torque 149.2 @ 3250 RPM

after software and fine tuning (pulled back on timing a bit)

    Re: horsepower?

The only way you can measure it is at the wheels.

    Re: horsepower?

i think i made 113awhp and 147awtq with a full exhaust and a DV on my car....

not exactly huge power-adders, but mods none the less.
and fwiw, even with a stock engine i was heat-soaking like a biotch on the dyno. (i lost over 10hp between my 1st and 2nd runs... and another 7 or so on the 3rd)

One cares because you'd like to have a baseline dyno bone stock to know what your car is making on that particular dyno (to calibrate against 170chp). Then you do whatever work you do and you get a new number (preferably at similar inlet conditions). Knowing your baseline results you have a factor for your car on that dyno to get to crank power.

Yeah. The SMIC soaks a lot huh? Mine was soaking and the ambient temps were between 30 and 40degF. Its amazing to see how my FMIC hardly gives any rise in temp even after back-to-back pulls for an hour.
