    +1mm oversized valve question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Right now I am looking at stock sized Supertech intake and exhaust valves.

If the primary use is street and track for my car is there any benefit of getting +1mm oversized intake valves?

I'm assuming there is related head work that needs to be done in order to make the oversized valves fit so I'm trying to figure out if it is worth the cost as I do know head work can eat up $$$ pretty fast.

I am going to do OS exhaust valves, but good luck finding data to justify having that done.

    Re: +1mm oversized valve question

What is oversized? The valve stem or the valve seat itself?

If it is the valve seat then that extra 1mm equates to more flow.

If it is the valve stem then it equates to a stronger valve.

Is it 1mm on the diameter or 1mm on the radius?

Either way you're looking at machine work and labor. Whether its a valve seat grind or new valve guides.

    Re: +1mm oversized valve question

I have an AWP head with those valves in it and it does make a difference especially in the higher rpms. I also had the head p&p'd and new springs and retainers installed at the same time so I don't know what the difference would of been had I only done the valves. I know that os valve kit is $1200. Not to jack a thread or anything but my head is for sale if you are interested.
