Just curious. Also, if there are some who are considering this, I may be interested in your KO4 setup if it has really low miles, so PM me

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

I would, but I'm waiting for package costs and real final numbers for RS6 turbos and GT25 kits. GT28's are too big, the spool doesn't happen quick enough for my liking. Does anyone have an idea about spool time for GT25's? I know RS6's should be around 3300rpm.

You should check out the plots of the RS6 setups, they're not spooling as fast as expected

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

You should look at power at a certain rpm over total spool time, the graphs I've seen shows the gt2554 spooling sooner and making more hp everywhere...

I will be moving on from APR pretty soon. Looking at the Tial results and possibly going that route.

Depending on overall costs if the RS6 isn't that much, I'll go that route. Or just go PJ k04s. I've looked into GT options and it's nice, but risky. Can't find a shop selling GT kits willing to stand by their product. ASP's kit is too much for me.

    What do you mean ?

What do you need to be more comfortable ?

Me or jdm could peace you a kit for a fraction of autospeed's cost.

You call SSP,Unitronic, Vast or epl for your tune.

What do you need more ?

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

I could probably get you a gt2554 kit for not even 8gs with fueling.

You need to buy a clutch and a Ebay fmic.

    Cant beat that.

For sure your not gonna have all the options I have, but there is a million options.

Dont go bigger than 2554 if you dont plan to build the block.

Anyone looking for a gt2554 kit, I have complete fueling kit good for about 500whp in the classifieds.

Great place to start, then I get you manifolds and downpipes an turbos.

    Simple as that.

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

No no no I wasn't talking about GenJDM or you (where the did you come from I've never talked to you about GT kits?). Trust me, I have talked to him about the GT25 option too so I know it can be done for a good price.

What I need to be comfortable with? Let's see... I'm not doubting GenJDM's character, because I don't know him. But there's the problem. I don't know him. Last time we talked, he mentioned a deposit to secure a kit for me. Mind you, I'm not really ready to send money over to someone who doesn't run a shop or a business. You might be comfortable, but not me, not when I got college tuition to worry about. If this was a small manifold or bi-pipe, yes, I wouldn't mind. But we're talking 6-8Gs here. You should understand what I'm saying by now. So when I have the money saved up like I said before, I will purchase it. But no I Owe Yous here.

I understand what your saying, but its a ton of time to do for anyone not to take a small deposit, anyone whos done this can tell you... I was a shop owner for years until the market/world got bad...

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

im going the gt route. i actually bought guru's gt2545 kit he was previously running. i can understand the hesitation in sending soemone a large amount of money, but i will vouch for guru as hes an awesome guy to deal with and buying his kit was a super smooth transaction. he even went to vag himself and picked up a new set of gaskits, nuts/bolts, etc. for me.

all i need now is fueling and fmic (jay hurry up with those pipes.. lol). by the time everything is said and done i should have a well running gt25 car for under 8 g's.

waiting on the install as im currently busy buying a new house, with a garage!! so that i can do the install myself. ill be sure to do a small write up w' some pics.

    cheers

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

-gurumans gt2554 kit w' turbos, manifolds, downpipes, wastesgates w' plumbing, inlet and intake pipes, all additional lines, fitting, nuts, bolts, gaskets.... 5k$$

-fueling 1200-1500 depending on what you do. the lower end for me whose gonna go with gurumans fueling, but you could also source your own injectors, maf and shit and get say custom tuned by ssp. theres def ways to do it for less then 2k$$+

-bosh 044 in tank fuel pump w' track density motor and tranny mounts 750$

-JHM fmic $600 ( i live up north and most likely wont need the efk.

    - timing belt kit $400

Total = $7950, and thats with some additionals on top of a gt kit ie. mounts, timing belt kit, fmic, etc. plus dont forget this also includes manifolds, and downpipes too...

labour ill do myself... so hopefully theres an idea for some who have the ability to do work themselves, and dont mind pieceing thigns together. obviously some cant do that and are gonna spend a bit more, but still can all be done with some extras for well under $10g's

    cheers

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

turbo kit from guru is used yes... im not too worried about that though as most of the stuff is just piping.. yes the turbos are used and could be a concern, but ive had them inspected and they look to be pretty solid.

all of the rest of the stuff is new... although if i go with gurus fueling that also is used, but like i said you could piece together new fueling pieces for around 700$ and go for a custom tune from there, ie. ssp.

as i said my method of going the gt route is not for everyone, but for some who have the know how it can be done for a lot less then most poeple think... cheers

Re: Who here is already stage 3 and considering an RS6 or GT setup?

I wasn't assuming anything i know he didn't have them on very long and everything is probably perfect, I was just asking if the whole kit was used or new thats all... I believe theres the right GT combo for just about any application... Theres GTs that know one ever talks about like the gt22 which will make k04 or better response but will make more power... 280chp each http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...52214_3.htmand these ones at 260chp each http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...2_452187_6.htm Either turbo can be maxed out on the stock motor and will make rs6 ++power without lag....

ms4CD, XJinCT, ///M3, and anyone else, If/when you want to get rid of your KO4 setup, give me a jingle if you're looking to get rid of it all in one deft swoop, but cheaply. What are you willing to pay for K04's (no inlets if I go RS6's since they fit) and an awe fuel kit with the boost controller option. I just did the K04 swap less than 3,500 miles ago.....everything new. Turbos were 2,000...fuel kit was 2,400. Turbos were PRIMED with oil for 45 seconds before the car started the first time.
