What it does: This upgraded detent / centering spring makes your shifter want to stay lined up in the 3rd/4th shifter gate. This stronger spring (about twice as stock) in turn makes the shifter want to go into 3rd more naturally when shifting from 2nd (less missed 3rd gear shifts that result in damaged transmissions). You will also notice more resistance to the right and left when in nuetral. This will cause it take a little more effort to put the car in 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th and reverse. This piece is not for everyone and is recommended to be used with our "solid" linkage upgrade since the extra spring tension may wear out the stock rubber plastic unit faster than normal.



Where does it go: This upgraded detent-centering spring installs in the transmission near the selector shaft cover. This is best done with the transmission out of the car, but can be done (with some difficulty) by just lowering the trans and engine down in the rear)
