JHM "solid" Shifter Centering Spring (Helps you NOT miss 3rd gear on shifts!!)

What it does: This upgraded detent / centering spring makes your shifter want to stay lined up in the 3rd/4th shifter gate. This stronger spring (about twice as stock) in turn makes the shifter want to go into 3rd more naturally when shifting from 2nd (less missed 3rd gear shifts that result in damaged transmissions). You will also notice more resistance to the right and left when in nuetral. This will cause it take a little more effort to put the car in 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th and reverse. This piece is not for everyone and is recommended to be used with our "solid" linkage upgrade since the extra spring tension may wear out the stock rubber plastic unit faster than normal.

have this in my car and damn what a difference! i love the way my shifter feels much more precise and not so sloppy from side to side. also guides you straight into 3rd once you pull out of second for much quicker shifting

Well being that this goes on the trans and totally separate in location it is better left as a separate part. It is also a pain to change in the car with the trans in. Ask PinoyS4.

Probably best done when doing my linkage upgrades or doing a clutch job. can be done in the car but it takes a couple hours and the trans has to be lowered and possibly one DP needs to be removed.

I also want to point out that this would also help you from accidently downshifting into 2nd when trying to shift into 4th hard and causing damage to the motor, trans, or flywheel (had someone just kill their flywheel ring and crank sensor doing this.)

It all depends on the size of your arms, the tools you have and how well you can contort. It can be done in the car without DP removal. You have to lower the rear of the cradle some as well.

This mod is most popular when the trans is out for a clutch or overhaul. Or if the motor is out for the turbos. Just like with my stabilizer bushing and linkage upgrade.

I do need to make a comparison video. Basically it makes the pressure double to push the shifter to the left and to the right. PinoyS4 and Bertworks have it. I still don't have it in my car even though I love it, I can't find any time to give my car any love these days.
