A couple of questions, for people with upgraded turbos.

Hey guys, I have been doing some research lately, but still have a couple of questions. I have previously owned a B5 A4, but unfortunately it was a 2.slow so I could not do much to it. Anyway, I plan on buying a 1998-2000 A4 1.8TQM within the next month or so and had a few questions.

Lets say I buy the car stock. If I want to spend say $2500 on engine upgrades, what should I do. I'm thinking GT28RS turbo with upgraded software, a fmic, a nice exhaust, injectors, and the few other things I will need to get it all setup. I don't mind buying used, and I have some friends who can help with the install.

1.) Is $2500 enough to get all this?
2.) What would you do instead, if at all?
3.) Approximately what sorts of horsepower gains will I be seeing?

I'm sorry if I used any wrong terminology, or if some questions aren't clear. I have never owned a turbo car, and want to get things done right.

if you buy a 2001.5, bassed can give you a pretty much complete 28rs set up for less then 2500.

That would be awesome, however, with my budget being kept more for mods, it will be hard finding a 2001.5. If I get a 1999 or 2000, his setup won't work?

Any other suggestions?

a 2.slow b5 a4? sure you've owned one before? or are you referring to the 12v v6?

what is your budget? and if you dont do a clutch you could easily nock it out for that. People are selling there elim kits all the time in the classifieds

$2,500 is probably very close if you get your eliminator setup used in the classifieds like tqmb said.. (ecu programming and injectors might be the deciding factor on price)

I just got done with my set up 28rs eliminator, and i think i spent close to that if not a hair over... (install was done with a lot of help) so if you can custom install it, you're golden.
