Re: Changing coilpacks on a 3.0??

not hard. just unscrew the two screws keeping the wiring harness in on the lower edge, and disengage them from the coil packs. pulling them out kind of sucks, so what I do is use an adjustable wrench to grab on either side and pull out carefully. For cp's 3 and probably 2, you need to take out the airbox. For cp's 5 and 6 it is helpful to move the coolant tank out of the way. There might be a good amount of resistance from the rubber seals, so you need reasonably strong consistent force.

yeah, takes some patience I think I used an allen wrench. I actually left the screws off, haven't found them to be necessary so far.

I think I'm just going to replace that orange wire loom altogether. Mines all broken up anyway.

I think ILL 3.0 walked me through mine as well :). I swear it was so hard for me to get my hands in there and use the force needed to pull it out; it was snug and they arent as easily accessible. Its not that common for them to blow on the 3.0 as it is the 1.8t and even though i bought 3 when i blew 1 i still havent had any more coil pack issues. Just take your time massaging it; yeah, just like that... nice and slow... ok, im being an ass. Good luck young skywalker.

I used a screwdriver to pry them out. The thread suddenly got dirty.
