You'll need a lot of stuff, expect to pay around $3500 for all new stuff when its all said and done.

Do a GIAC-X chip, that'll put a grin on your face.

    Re: stock 01 1.8T

With a FMIC on stock mapping you may see a power drop so as stated get her chipped or start looking at larger Turbo's.

The K04-15 is a drop in turbo or other wise GT28RS/GT2871r and even bigger if you are looking at 350bhp+. but you will need quite a few additional parts deppending on what power you are looking at but do a search and you will find loads of info on the subject.

No power might have a boost leak. I would get a boost gauge and chip before going with fmic. Its not needed for k03. Boost gauge is the most helpfull tool you can get.
    Unitronic tuned. love it.

Need any services done in NYC area please PM me. I will diagnose and fix your car. Also do clutch replacements, Timing-belt services, Turbo upgrade/installation, Fluid changes, boost leaks and pretty much anything.

Definitely get a boost gauge and see if you're boosting normal first. Then chip it with GiacX. That's all I have in my 01 and an exhaust and it made a big difference.

A 16 second car isn't gonna feel fast in anyway. The power band is like from 2500 RPM to 5500 RPM,and feels very broad. This is due to a tiny little turbo,it produces a good torque down low and holds to about 5500 RPM or so,but it lacks that top end kick ur use to if u drove Evo's or STI's.

Sounds about right stock. Get the GiacX and you'll spike around 18psi. You'll love it.

AWM bottom end really shouldn't run a GT28RS with stock internals.

othe car is extremely detuned from the factory. DEFINATELY upgrade the ECU as your first mod. no questions asked. I've heard the X-Chip is a solid mod for the '01's. (i'm running Dahlback and the N75k I believe and the borla v2 exhaust and it pulls up until 5,300 rpms or so... i spike at 20 and hold until the 4,800 mark or so)
