Does any company make those honey comb grill inserts that are found in the bumpers and grilles of the RS versions and like in the new GTi's. I've found an upper grille but It will still need to be retrofitted..the bumper inserts/lower grille I cant find though.

    car info:
    Non widebody V6 99' A6 avant.

    thanks for all the help!

    Re: Honeycomb inserts

I was looking for the same thing for my GTI. I wanted open grills to increase air flow, the lower right and left grills are closed:

I found that Kamei makes a sheet that you can cut to fit : http://tinyurl.com/2dawv7

nice. it's got pretty good zip to it - not as zippy as my M3, but pretty good for the price of admission. I have the DSG, it's a cool piece of technology. You'll love it.

btw - ECS Tuning has FK Race grill/mesh :

looks a bit more like the honeycomb pattern used in VAG cars.

Not sure if you are looking at perhaps fabricating these yourself, but I've also been looking for this for a while now...

There seems to be quite a few places that has the "flatened" expanded metal, but most of them don't price it out to "Joe Shmoe" retailer. Maybe more people are interested and we can do a group buy or something.

These guys have some, but I never actually asked them for a quote, so I don't know what a 4'X8' sheet will cost... probably not cheap...

i know i know, JCWhitney for audi parts? what the hell? but you can order the black honeycomb grill sheets cheap from them. $20.99 for a 47.25" x 7.88" sheet here

    hope this helps a little.

    Re: Honeycomb inserts

At my local german salvage yard there are like 10 wrecked A4's and they all have honey comb grilles, so im going to go pick up 2 or 3 grills and cut em' up to fit my lower inserts on meh grill. Im sketchy about metal because it dents, plastic does not, thats why I want plastic but I can buy sheets of it because for the most part its not bent to fit the OEM curve of the original honey comb grills, all those sheets you can buy are flat..

Also check ECSTuning under B6 or B5 A4 body options they have what I believe you are looking for. Also I have seen some Allroads sporting them www.ecstuning.com

    Good luck!
