    Does the drop in K&N filter really increase the turbo sound like a cold air intake just slightly softer? Will it give a real soft pshhhh between shifts?

    No, an air filter does not make the pssh sound, a blow off valve does.

    It gets a little more vocal if you swiss cheese the airbox. Not CAI loud by any means though.

    yea pretty much.

    I just put a stockie back in and with the k&n i can hear the blow off a little bit if i'm in a tunnel and i release 20psi

    The Cabrinio or watever the hell its called makes a very nice soft pshhh with the stock DV when u let off the gas,with a normal DV. Trust me I know what a BV is and I don't want a full on one.
