    New Seats and Questions...

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Ok so I recently just finished cleaning up and putting S4 Silver Alcantera/leather seats in my car. The whole swap was fairly quick. I did run into a couple of problems tho... I need to run power to the seats. The ones that were in it were manual. I connected all of the hookups (3) on the drivers side green, yellow, and red (power) but the seat has no power still. The passenger has no red plug so i'm gonna have to run power to the old harness. The second problem in the way the power seats mount. These seats have 2 bolts on front instead of using the rail system. Anyone know how to bolt these up, or even where to run power?
    Here is some pics...

    And here is where they mount. I just can't find a way to get a nut in there.

    Re: New Seats and Questions...

    You need to cut the center bracket out and weld studs to the floor pan to bolt the seat down.

    Is this hard to do? I would not mind having manual seats at all.

    i'd like to know as well, seeing that its easier than swapping the frame on my seat for the passenger manual seat

    I have a 96 a4 and i swapped out the two front seats. Well, i didint put the b5 s4 ones in yet. Mine are the same except all black leather. I am going to run into the same problem. I have been putting off getting them in.

    if you are just swapping the pads/covers over to the frames it wont be so bad

    i had to assemble one of the seats...had to attach the cover to the pad and then to the frame..thats not the funnest thing in the world to do.

    you will need a couple hog rings. or im sure you could improvise somehow. one of the slides for the headrest is a little annoying to get out too. there is a trick to it i never found. but i still got it out;

    once you do it though, youll be amazed what little parts actually hold the seat together

    and not a good pic..but this is them..they are more gray in person. and i reused my stock onyx headrests and black armrest in the rear

    contact via email please.

    lucky for me i had power lumbar in my sport seats so all the connections were all ready there :)\

    but yes i have the same problem. i cant figure out how to get the front of the seat like your pic bolted down properly. i was told to use a speical type of rivit but all that did was break off after getting in and out a few times.

    can someone that has already done this maby post up a quick diy of how to get the frot of the seats bolted down properly? maby a pic of the final product?

    Yeah the manual ones do. The power ones are a pain. I cannot get the frame off of the bottom!
