Re: so how true are these dyno plots for specific chips?

Thats an interesting thread.I copied it all down. Here you go! Keep in mind that this is POWER AT THE WHEELS

The number in parentheses is the gain over stock.
    Stock
    197hp
    212tq

    APR
    221hp (24hp)
    291tq (79tq)

    ABT
    251hp (54hp)
    290tq (78tq)

    MTM
    235hp (38hp)
    285tq (73tq)

    GIAC-X
    261hp (64hp)
    296tq (84tq)

So in my opinion, APR is definately a safe tune with lots of torque, but GIAC makes the power and torque.

Wow so if I switch from my APR chip to GIAC I'll get another 40 hp and 5 lb ft of torque?? I didn't think there was that much difference....

Re: so how true are these dyno plots for specific chips?

The original dyno post was made back in 2003 so these plots are not the current versions of each tuners software. I believe APR bumped their HP numbers with version 5 (plot is of ver 3.3), but they are still conservative compared to the GIAC.

It would be interesting to see how the latest files stack up.

Yep, this is from 2003. Plus, the files that were tested could have been older versions which means they'd now be even more than 5 years old.

The latest APR and GIAC files for the K03 S4 are pretty close.

yea im in the market for an s4 right now. (preferably an avant) but their rare as can be here in cali or anywhere locally. at least within the 15+/- thousand im willing to go for one. that at least would have coilovers. and when i saw that thread i was really surprised at the difference. ive never heard of MTM. but im very aware of the other major companies listed.

Does anyone have the most recent HP/TQ numbers for APR and GIAC?

btw, im not new to euros at all. i used to drive a jetta and im all over vwvortex and socaleuro. anyways i did have a quick question...how would a stg 2 s4 hold up against a 240sx with a sr20det motor(redtop)STOCK, 3" exhaust and a chip? i know the hp/tq numbers arent even comparable but more less the power/weight ratio

dont even think it. apr's software from my direct experience, research and others experience seems to be the smoothest curve out of all available.
to me thats more important than 3 more lbs of boost and an eratic curve.

i had GIAC and the boost guage used to go from 20psi down to 16 back up to 20.
also 20 psi on baby k03's are just speeding up the process of blowing one day. not worth it.

Reflashed at Autospeed and what a world of difference. 17psi stays pinned from 2500(est) all the way thru 6000(est) in every gear.
I recommend ASP software to anyone with 2.7t!!

i really need to get dynoed to confirm what kinda power my car is putting down on K03's.
just crossing my fingers they last another 15k miles. by that time they should be replaced with stage 3

Where do you see 60 and 110? I see 70-80 HP and 80-90 tq and that's with intake.
