    Timing Belt Estimate $1000

    Called a local mechanic someone on this forum told me about and got an estimate on timing belt replacement.

    I have a 01 A6 4.2L and they said it would be right around $1000. Is this a fair price?

    as long as it includes all the pully's and water pump and thermostats and such its about normal unfortunatly

    and tension and rollers. then it would be mid ballpark.
