    Thinking about manifolds...?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After reading some cool stuff on AWEs website about their intake manifolds for the stage 3 setup, I decided to request information on HP and torque gains for the manifolds. Here is what AWE had to say -

    Thanks for contacting us.

Gains with the manifolds are very small in relation to the price. We only see about 10 more hp with them. Coupled with the cost of having to pull the motor to install them, it's just not worth it at this point.

My suggestion would be to use that money and buy some brakes or wheels from me...

If you get the SS auto ones for 250.00 just have some extra money laying around when they fall apart so you can pay to pull the motor twice... There will be other mani options for the Ko4 guys from what I hear soon enough...

Well if the X manifolds are shit , why is it that no one can show pictures of how bad they have fallen apart?

Because nobody is stupid enough to trust those shitty chinese parts.

About 10 hours to change a set at 60$ an hour minimum...

    No more talking about XS.

    Re: Thinking about manifolds...?

After doing some research this is what I have found.
    1) Manifolds are not cost effective enough to spend the money, there isn't a large enough demand to make a good quality low dollar alternative to the stock unit. The chance of failure is not worth the risk, especially for daily drivers.
    2) I don't know what some of the people are using who moved from K03/4's to Garrett or other. I get the impression even most stage 3 or better cars still use the stock manifolds.
    3) Vast provides a coated manifold with a porting option for those who don't want to install there new turbo's on a rusty manifold.
