    CF Spoiler: How to Install?

I got my Deval carbon fiber spoiler from EuroGearUSA and it is absolutely stunning. The weave is beautiful and the fit is perfect. Kudos to the guys at Deval.

Now, the spoiler already has a ton of two-sided tape of it for installation, but I want something a bit more permanent. I don't have my own driveway, so most of the time I am running the car through a touchless car wash, only hand washing and waxing once a year. So I need the thing very secure so it doesn't fly off from the high pressure water.

Epoxy seems to be the best solution to that, but I don't know much about the stuff. Is there a special formula that works best for this application? I went to a site with about 200 different formulas, and I have no idea where to start. Any advise would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with this but I would think that the 2 strips of double sided tape on the spoiler would have no problem holding it on. When you start using epoxy, you start running the risk of damaging the paint. Not to mention, installing it without getting excess epoxy on the trunk.

I would be careful about using epoxy.

double tape should be enough to hold it. post it here once you install it.

Screw the tape, put it on the right way. Go to a BMW dealer and get some Dow K1 betalink , follow the instructions on the box and have fun.

please do not use epoxy. Clean the bottom of the spoiler and edge of trunk with mineral spirits (takes off wax and other residue). And use double sided tape. It will hold.

Ps. Betalink holds at about 80lbs per square inch, so that thing is there for good, unless you spray it with the beta remover.

Re: CF Spoiler: How to Install?

I'd go with epoxy, seeing as I've already lost a trunk spoiler that was mounted with 2x sided-tape. My current trunk spoiler has been mounted with a silicon adhesive (black colored) and had no problems for the last 9 months.
