Before and after pics...Stasis Street Sport CO's

Eric at Supreme Power cut me a sweet deal on these coilovers and installed them today. Here is a before and after pic of the car. Ive only put about 20 miles on the car so far, so Im sure there is more settling that will occur. As it sits right now though, do you guys think I should adjust it? If so, in which direction? Front/Rear?

Edit.....Btw, I forgot I had the oem suspension in the trunk. Pulled it out and the rear raised another 1/4"

You need to drop the front more. It looks higher then the rear.

You need some spacers to make the wheels go flush with the fenders. Aside from that, looks great!

Also, the front is supposed to higher than the rear...STaSIS knows this, that's why they come pre-adjusted that way.

overall the car looks much better man, I would agree to adjust the rear about another 1/2" to flow with the back end, but other than that it looks great!!!

Re: Before and after pics...Stasis Street Sport CO's

Drive a tank of gas, get it aligned, then see if you need/want adjustments. Mine dropped a little more after settling maybe another 1/4 inch! Do some "gentle" spirited driving to get a feel of your suspension to further determine what adjustments need to be made. Otherwise looks great so far. I still am in awe how much a difference a drop makes on a car both for looks and for performance.

I had this EXACT setup, same color car and wheels too :)

STaSIS did my install and used 10MM H&R Spacers and it looked perfect, don't forget you need longer lugs as well!

Re: Before and after pics...Stasis Street Sport CO's

Hey, hoping someone can answer this real quick, since I've never actually had coil-overs on a car of mine to know first-hand:

do the setups allow you to return the height to about what stock is w/o damaging the shocks and/or coils? Living in the Bay Area, I'd love to lower my car for all the driving roads around, but I also am an avid snow-sporter and can't conceive of having a lowered car in any sort of snow-storm. Any suggestions? It seems like asking the coil-overs to raise the car might not agree with their design and hurt longevity.

That's why people get coilovers! Avid track guys will adjust it according to the track and track conditions they are at.

The more you pay for a set, the easier the adjustability for the most part.

Re: Before and after pics...Stasis Street Sport CO's

Are you going for looks or for performance? If you are going for looks then you can listen to all the nonsense about people saying lower the rear more and slamming it. If you want performance then look in Stasis' FAQ section on their website, they list their recommended settings for better handling performance as well as recommended alignment settings. My personal driving style fits stasis' settings so I only have good things to say about their setup.

And oh yes, as mentioned in another thread, front higher than the rear = more understeer. But this may suit many of you guys fine until you've learned to adapt to the slight understeer and decide to tune your suspension for better overall handling.

I'll have to disagree with the "easier to adjust part". My KW V3's are horrendously difficult to adjust (for beginners) and not to mention compression and rebound settings are independent from each other... making it pretty easy to screw up and actual shock settings will be a matter of "a long time" before getting the right settings down for an individual.

It is softer than I thought it would be, but that is what I wanted. It deffinitely has more control under aggressive launches and hard braking. Feels better than the Oem sport suspension to me as well. Slightly sportier, and a tad more refined. Does a good job soaking up bumps still.

Are you going to get it aligned, I've had my coilovers on for over 3 months and still haven't had my car aligned. I figured since the car drove straight with no pull in either direction I was in the clear...

    Is that bad?

Think about it this way, once you get an alignment done tire wear will be minimized. The left/right suspension will load properly under stress and therefore handling performance will be noticeable. Yes, even if the car seems like it's pulling straight it merely means that your caster is probably ok. But this does not affect camber and toe angles.

Better safe than sorry. Keep in mind that even coilovers, fresh out of the box have not experienced being under a weight load before (no shock dynos do not count because it is not under a continuous load over a very long duration of time). Unless your springrate is like 100 kg/mm or like 50000ft/in springs will sag under load and may require some time to settle in.

Can you adjust everything (height and dampening) while still on the car with V3's?

Check your tires and report back to base! If you are not suffering from uneven wear (especially check the inner tire in the front) then you lucked out!
