    Need MAF logs PLEASE!?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm trying to do a comparison of what I've got to what others are seeing with similar setups and conditions. So anyone that has or can get MAF logs for the following would be a HUGE help...

AWE Stage 3 w/fueling (pump gas)
    Piggie Pipes
    Stock airbox/filter (w/Darintake preferably)
    Borla Cat-back or similar 3"
    Sea Level or close
    Stock Intercoolers

As close as I can get would be appreciated and please let me know the mods that you have if some don't match.

what do you max at Grams per sec wise with your setup? I can tell you that on my 3- I get around 290-295.

Here's an AWE Stage 3 S4 with a stock airbox, race gas file, and 112 octane. The red is the AWE car.

Comparing your MAF readings to his is moot since you're running different sized MAF housings and different programming.

Here's another on the new boost controller program with 104 octane. 60F. I believe this was with the stock airbox.

    Re: Need MAF logs PLEASE!?

Thanks Armchair! Not sure how comparing race gas to pump gas is going to help, but i'm not too far off from yours. What downpipes do you have and what's your elevation? I'm maxing at 272 @ 6850rpm's in 3rd gear.

EDIT - What I'm really trying to find out is the difference in MAF reading between piggie pipes and aftermarket (i.e. AWE). Then possibly stock IC's vs AWE. I'm being told that I should be around 300g/s, but that's based on AWE dp's and probably AWE ic's (not sure on the latter)

    Re: Need MAF logs PLEASE!?

Those were just random AWE Stage 3 logs that I found from searching the forum.

Which version of the AWE/GIAC Stage 3 software are you running?

If you post your logs, I'd be happy to take a look at them and see what, if any, improvements could be made.

I'd like to make it really clear so I don't waste anyone's time, I'm NOT interesting in simply getting more power. My BIGGEST concern is whether or not I have a problem with my car. If there's nothing wrong with my car given the mods, THEN I'll start tweeking things to get more power. I just refuse to add more power if there is an existing problem. Also, the point of this thread is to get MAF logs for comparisons. Any help with the main problem is welcome and appreciated, but I don't want this to turn into a big ordeal if it doesn't have to.

    TIA

in Florida, your MAF readings are low. I have some logs of a Florida car I will post up tomorrow...

The 2nd set of logs marc posted up are mine. You should be seeing around 280g/s at sea level.

    Re: Need MAF logs PLEASE!?

The last time I logged my MAF it maxed at 272g/s. That is not reflected in the graph that I posted, but honestly, how much difference does that 8g/s make? Also, I'd like to mention again that I am not on race gas and I still have stock IC's. So like I said, I'm trying to determine the difference, if any, that aftermarket DP's like AWE makes over Piggies in MAF readings. And/or the difference, if any, that aftermarket IC's like AWE makes over stock in MAF readings. All on an OTS AWE stage 3 setup.

    Re: Need MAF logs PLEASE!?

It's really tough to get an apples to apples comparison here because of the multitude of different variables involved. You'd need the same car in the same climatic conditions and do a before and after test with dp's as well as with different IC's.
In theory, the dp's probably won't make a difference until you are flowing more exhaust than K04's can put out, and the IC's almost certainly will make a difference if you are still on stockers.

I totally agree. I'm just trying to put some other's theories to rest. I should be ordering AWE IC's within the next week or so. Everything that I was using as a comparison to what I "should" be flowing (300g/s) was with AWE dp's and ic's. So I'm trying to eliminate the "need" for $1500 down pipes over my Piggies. In the end, I blame you Jerbel. I was very happy thinking there was nothing wrong with my car, but noooooo. You had to have logs of this and that and stir up my brain with AFR, CF and other confusing acronyms...

I'm just playin man. I really appreciate all the help, but sometimes, ignorance is bliss -

LOL, I know EXACTLY what you mean....believe me. haha

I would DEFINITELY stick with your piggies unless you plan on getting something bigger than K04's.

Get the IC's and see what happens to your MAF numbers.

    Re: Need MAF logs PLEASE!?

Roger that. I should be placing my order next week after I pay all the bills. I'll make sure to do before and after logs.

If anyone is interested in specific specs/logs for a before and after comparison, list them and I'll do my best to get them all in. I'll do my "before" logging the night before install and the "after" logging the night of the install to keep things as close as possible for environmental variables.
