    ok, 1997 a4 2.8 QM 115k miles.

In the past 2k miles i have replaced, all front end CA's, Outer TRE's, and sway bar end links.

I am getting this clunking at low speeds when im turning the wheel. Its either when im taking slow u turns or turning the wheel at low speeds. It isnt when im fully cranking the wheel it happens when i turn it 3/4 the way and seems to do it most when turning left. What do you guys think it is.

Im pretty sure this wasnt happening untill after i got my TRE's put on. Btw, the TRE's were the old style s4 ones with the thinner boot if that matters. O yea and i think my shocks are stock i dont no if they or my springs could be making the noise, trying to save some money for coils or shocks/springs so i can dump her in summer. thanks

Check the inner tie rod ends, and the steering rack. You may have some issues there.

is it super important that everything was tightened when the car was on the ground, because the guy that did my front end parts did them on jack stands.... But he made sure those muther ******s were tight.

it makes them wear out quicker. if not done in the driving position. the material is then stressed differently.

A4 doesn't uses struts, and has no strut mounts or strut bearings. Might be confusing it with the TT, or MkIV's which use struts.

Is that really all that necessary? When I tried to do this installing my coilovers with the bottom strut bolt, it's almost impossible because when you load the suspension up, it moves the bolt up to where you have about a half inch between the bolt and muffler...
