What mods have you done. judging I would say suspesion, exhaust, lip, rims, but what exactly. Also what size and offset are thoes rims. The really make the car look great, it alsmot looks like a 4.2. I thought I was untill I saw your name

Hey Trapped, thanx. Mods include: 93 octane APR ECU, Samco TBB, Bailey DV's, K & N filter (all done at GMP in Charlotte), VAST Piggies, VAST Tip chip (Prince tells me its Stage III), tip recode for 1st gear to redline, Eibach Sport Spring kit, Koni yellow Sport shocks, APR catback for +2002 models. valence cutout and painted w/ "Forever Black", cut off APR round exhaust tips (they stuck out too far) and bolted on Borla oval exhaust tips, NT555 Nitto 235/40/18's with Drifz's wheels 18 X 8.5 (I cut out the drifz center cap decal and "gorilla glued" Audi center caps from GMP), painted sidemarkers with VHT nightshades, PIAA HID's for low and high beams, fogs and turn signals, trunk lip spoiler (3M tape) from xenonspecialist on ebay, windshield replaced yesterday as it was cracked. Had timing belt, water pump, etc. replaced ~ 100K (old belt looked fine), debadged. Not sure of wheel offsets -- will try to get that info for you. Thanks for noticing my A6

Damn man, nice stuff, just about everything i want to do to mine, very very nice, hows it sound with the APR and VAST piggies, i just ordered my APR exhaust friday, so im pretty excited to hear it.

Hi Gigi. Been looking at your ride for awhile. Nice setup. Tip chip mailed to me from Prince at VAST last week (my car sat immobilized in garage for 4 days). Spoke with Prince on phone and he tells me it is Stage III. So far no issues. In tip mode from 1st to 2nd at low or high RPM is a pretty good "jump" but more pronounced at higher RPMs. Shift speed transition is definitely quicker and I like it. Had transmission fluid (red line) and filter replaced (for 1st time) prior to tip chip installation per Mike/Princes advice. Will keep you updated if any changes occur. Keep rollin' with your sweet A6. Thanx for noticing my A6!! Any more mod suggestions???

Thanx again FranKA6. Sounds awesome with Piggies and APR catback!! Not too loud, some growl, but authoritative. I like it. A very noticeable performannce improvement when first installed. Try and have Piggies and Catback installed at same time to save time and $$. If Indie shop doing it make sure they move the O2 sensors to their new proper position. I had to go back and have O2's moved as it was throwing a constant CEL. So far no CELS. All for tonight. Gotta go.

Wow I look at your pics of the wheels and thought somthing was fishy about thoes ceter caps, but I thought they looked diffrent... In a great way. Just seeing somthing diffrent really makes you notice and they look good. JW if you did the drop in filter yourself because mine was a PITA! The exhaust especially looks cool from the side, from the back it looks huge and I bet it makes one nice sound.

Also did you notice a better sound with the PIGGIES or were they all done at the same time.

Trapped: I did the K & N drop only once and never again. It was a beeaatch!! I have my indie shop clean it every other oil change. He can open and close the filter box in no time. As far as the Piggies, I had the Piggies and Catback done at the same time so I cannot help you there. however, there was a significant difference in sound and performance between stock and Piggies/Catback. I highly recommmend the Piggies. I agree with you on the look of the catback from the side. From the back I wish it were higher where you would not see so much of the mufflers but we could not position it any higher. This may have been due to the fact that I ordered a 2002+ exhaust for a 2001 A6. Originally i thought I would like the straight round exhaust tips on the 02 package but I ended up cutting them off and placing Borla ovals. In retrospect I would order the 01 package, cut off the down pipes, and place Borla ovals. Later

I like yuor ride man. My car was at GMP today. I am there often, lie hanging out with them. They had a 220k mercedez the other day for 40k of mods and next to it was a brand new ASTON.
Anyway, Mike at GMP figured out my acceleration surge/boost issue in no time, had a lower intercooler hose popped off! I had checled TB/Intake/Bipipe and Dvs only. They also had my car aligned and repainted my S6 blades.
I had the software reflashed with the latest APR.
Car runs strong now, shifts good.
Your tip chip Stg3 works b/c your car is pre 2003. Kurt and prince are having issues with customers like me who have an 03 or 04, encryprion issues. BUt I talked to Prince today for a while and they think they fixed the problem and are testing then sending me one next week to replace the stage 2 I have on and test Stg3 on my car.

It was installed May 2007 at GMP and no upgrades since. Do they charge a fee for upgrade reflashing?? I also spoke with Prince at VAST today to finalize my tip chip invoice and we discussed the pre-2003 encryption issues. He said he would email me when it was time to upgrade the TCU software. Tomorrow at local indie shop I am having my spark plugs replaced with new NGK's and having the APR catback evaluated and fixed as it appears I bent a pipe clamp on left pipe in front of muffler on a road at slow speed as road transitioned from flat to severe upgrade. Should just need two new clamps. All for now. Hope your A6 is riding well.

Yeah the catback is the next mod (bithday present....) And my stock which has been a PITA (bought in 01 for $500 went to $3500 overnight to $400) <- Yeah sucks, is finally back to $500 and is being bought out so Im going to use the money to buy piggies. Ill try to get some video or pics of the catback. I am also going to get the ovals.

I was thinking about spending the money on suspension, I just really want a nice sound.

may 2007 is pretty recent I don't know when APR went to the new version. My chip dated from 2005. Not sure on the charge, I think it is typically a flat fee... maybe$20.. Call them..

My cra runs real good now and the shifting with the stage 2 is very nice. Car runs stronger than ever!
